Mr Zheng’s H2 math tuition lessons were of tremendous help to me when I started out in early JC1. Prior to that, much to my disappointment, I had consistently been one of the lower scorers in class for my tests and examinations. However, his lessons allowed me to understand mathematics concepts in a clearer light and appreciate the beauty of the subject. Mr Zheng is a mathematics tutor who is deeply passionate about what he does, particularly the way he guides his students. With his help, I attained an A in the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level Mathematics examination and I am grateful to him for his help and his faith in me.

Lucas Thia (HCI)

I scored a U grade for math for promos in J1 but got an A grade in A levels after attending Mr Zheng’s math tuition. His lessons and homework helped me to practise consistently and clarify any doubts I had which would otherwise be harder to do so in school due to the large class size. He is also very knowledgeable and approachable, ensuring I completely understood his answers to my questions, before moving on.

Clara Koh (EJC 20-A2)

Mr Zheng helped me understand maths from the basics and focus a lot on understanding and practice which helped me improve on the subject a lot!

Jeremy Fong (TJC 02/19)

Mr Zheng has been a great help for me for H2 Math over the past three years. Through Mr Zheng’s help, I was able to obtain As and Bs consistently throughout the first two years in JC 1. He was able to clarify any doubts I had about any topic in H2 Math. A quick text sent over Whatsapp will be able to help you find the answer you need to your question, even at really late hours! He was really detailed about answering any doubts I had. When I went to J2, I personally found H2 Math in J2 quite a struggle to understand myself. If not for Mr Zheng, I believe I would have faired even worse. The speed and content of the subject almost doubled within 6 to 7 months and the topics became much challenging. Even the previous topics in J1 became much harder. Math was always one of the subjects I really struggled a lot, if not the most in J2. Every week, Mr Zheng’s carefully selected topical practices helped me to have a better grasp of the topics in H2 Math. Above all, Mr Zheng is a very patient person. He allows room for mistakes to be made during practice, and challenges you to think deeper for math so that you will get a better sensing if a new question pops up in exam. His notes and practices are also very clear and concise compared to a lot other school notes. If math is your worst fear and you dread doing it, contact Mr Zheng! His foundational understanding (FUN) practices will slowly build up your confidence as you inch towards the A levels and you’ll be much more at ease. Never be afraid to take the first leap at doing math again if you’re someone like me who often had trouble picking up the pace for math. Contact Mr Zheng!

Woon Wei-Bin (JPJC 19A03)

To put it in a nutshell, Mr Zheng is a MATHster. His passion for Math definitely stands out most for me and like what young people say nowadays, he breathes Math. He is indeed that teacher who never gives up on his students despite them not performing well (I’m a concrete example). He always prepares worksheets and plans lessons to cater to the specific needs of his students and that for sure has helped me to improve over the months. Furthermore, despite me texting him Math questions very late at night, he replies to WhatsApp messages very quickly and patiently explains the answers. His love for numbers is contagious and I miraculously started to look forward to his lesson after attending the first one (It never happened before for Math:”). As someone who is extremely mathematically DISinclined and has never gotten anything higher than a big fat U for internal exams, I’m beyond thankful for Mr Zheng and all the efforts he had put in to make Math less daunting and to a certain extent enjoyable:) Once again, Thank You, Mr Zheng!!!

Anna Dang (SAJC 18A03)

I came to know of Mr Zheng from a primary school friend, and all i can say is that it is regrettable my family’s finances didn’t allow me to join his tuition earlier 😂. His lessons were always informative and guided, making maths a little more tolerable and easier for me. Also he has psychic powers spotting exam questions too. (Like he did predict some A level questions this year o.o). Overall, my maths grade would definitely be worse had i not join his tuition, and i absolutely recommend anyone finding for a competent math tutor to consider him!

Iestin Yap Xiu Qi (MI 17S1)

Mr Zheng is a very dedicated teacher and tries his utmost best to explain abstract concepts as simple as he can. He is also very friendly and it makes the mundane subject of mathematics much more enjoyable. He has lots of insights to our syllabus and is able to prepare us sufficiently (or even overpreparing us) for us to be able to face our A levels with confidence. Thanks Mr Zheng for the help for the past few months!

Ryan Kwek (SAJC)

Mr Zheng has always been extremely patient and clear with his explanation. Also, he seems to reply my questions on WhatsApp really quickly although I’m pretty sure he’s very busy. This has help me improve greatly since I’m able to revise under his guidance without him being next to me. This made me improve from E grade to A by A levels!!

Ruben Wu Fengying (SAJC 17S19)

Mr Zheng is an extremely dedicated and passionate teacher. He backs his commitment with his vast understanding of the subject, enabling him to effectively explain concepts to me and other students. As a result, his one to one consultations allowed me to make great strides in my grades, coming from a ‘U’ in September’s Prelim to a ‘B’ at the A Level examinations. Furthermore, what I find particularly useful are his notes and the ease at which we can approach him for help. His notes while concise, are extremely focused in helping us tackle nearly all question types that will be tested in a concept. The fact that he takes the initiative to approach us in class to offer help makes us feel that he is a teacher willing to go the extra mile so long as we ask him. The quality of his tuition will undoubtedly be excellent and I highly recommend those who require help in math to sign up.

Kenneth Tan Kian Hao (SAJC 16S19)

Mr Zheng was a really patient and creative teacher, which helped the students in understanding difficult problems in other angles. Besides, during my studies in university as a math major, he gave me many insights and helped me tremendously. With many accolades in math under his belt, I am very certain that students will definitely benefit under him and do well for A levels.

Lee Ke Qin (SAJC 11S24)

I attended Mr Zheng’s one on one sessions for about a year since the start of J2. His sessions were precise with an accurate and yet bespoke focus on the areas in which i was weak in. He covered many different question types and even things that my school barely grazed, in depth. The topic of our lesson would always shift according to my needs. He also has access to many school papers and answers with comments which proved extremely helpful in the last few months of my revision. Futhermore he also has materials that are clear and easy to understand. Mr Zheng has also devised papers himself which are angled for the new style of questions. These papers a calibrated using the A level papers so they served as extremely effective mockpapers for me. These papers were especially important as the revised syllabus has made previous tys papers less helpful. On a more personal note, Mr zheng has provided important moral support as he provided tons for life advice throughout my time with him.

On top of that, i am also still in contact with him despite having graduated from his classes. His advice has helped me pull through tough times, namely the exam seasons.

All in all, Mr Zheng has been an invaluable support, both on an academic and emotional level and i could not recommend him more for aspiring students.

Chia Kai Jian (RJC 17S03M)

Natural-born genius? Gifted top scholar? Brainy nerd? Mr Zheng is a person who has mathematics deeply embedded into his lifestyle. To say that he is passionate for maths would be a gross understatement. Mr Zheng has numerous achievements and accolades to his name(top scholar NUS mathematics, top scholar in Hwa Chong), where bearing witness to these achievements can make one feel starkly inadequate. One may wonder why would someone of Mr Zheng’s caliber go into the field of teaching. Can he really make us conventional mortals less intellectually challenged? Is he just a conserved nerdy genius that looks half his age? I, for one can give you an answer that I truly believe: Mr Zheng is the best teacher I have ever had. Mr Zheng is a very approachable and sociable person who never shies away from helping his students. He goes to great lengths to ensure that his students are well equipped for exams, and has always entertained my pre-examination questions late into the night. He is extremely innovative and resourceful in creating new material for his students where he really embodies his motto of “Math is FUN”. His eloquence and deep rooted knowledge in the MOE mathematics topics is easily observable from the way he teaches and explains them in his lessons. I honestly have faith in Mr Zheng to give you the best consultations and learning experience possible and I would send my kids to him if I had any.

Benjamin Fheng (SAJC 14S02)

Mr Zheng has his own set of worksheets that he prepares every tutorial lesson, with questions that he has picked out personally. Those questions consists of basics in which we need to know and also challenging questions which are good to try out. There are also times which I have went for consultations without knowing what I do not know but Mr Zheng was able to point out my mistakes easily just from looking at my workings. I am very thankful to have him as my teacher and I’m sure he will be a great help to his future students too!

Hou Xin An (SAJC 16S19)

Mr Zheng has always been clear in his teaching and I’ve never felt confused by his lessons before. Whenever our school conducted math lectures, I was often not able to grasp the full picture but Mr Zheng’s tutorials always left me crystal clear with the various concepts. He’s really dedicated as well and I’m really grateful for the many consultations he granted us when As were drawing near. As our civics tutor, he cared for our well-being as well. Besides being such a youthful teacher, he has always been like a friend to my classmates and I 🙂

Louisa (SAJC 16S15)

Mr Zheng is patient and clear in his math tutorials, and he divides each chapter into bite sized worksheets so that with every tutorial, we understand a bit more of the whole chapter. He also makes lessons fun and interactive by encouraging questions from everyone. Not only is he a great teacher, Mr Zheng also often transcends his teaching duties and gives us his insights on life and things we’ve yet to experience such as NS and Uni life. Honestly I am so grateful that Mr Zheng taught me math from 2016-2017, and he is a teacher that I will remember for a long time. Thanks for everything Mr Zheng.

Lim Ju Yong Dillon (SAJC 16S15)

Mr Zheng is a special breed of human. I mean not everyone can make something as mundane as math come to life as he does. His passion for teaching and flare to help one UP THEIR GAME at math is unmistakable and remarkable. Apart from a math teacher, he’s a great mentor, and fun person. Consults with Mr Zheng is always fast, effective and information is retained. He also replies text and WhatsApp almost instantly, be sure to get your bang for your buck! All in all, Mr Zheng gave me, a perpetual U grade math student, hope for something ahead. He gave me motivation to push through, and determination to hone my non-existent skill!
Highly recommended tutor.

Wayne Wang (SAJC 16S20)

Mr Zheng is an extremely passionate teacher who is very proficient in mathematics and has a deep understanding of the syllabus. His lessons are always made interesting through the way he explains mathematical concepts (sometimes in a comical manner). He provides his own lesson materials of which he is very familiar and hence he is also flexible in guiding his students of different capabilities. He occasionally goes beyond the syllabus to explore things that are quite interesting and somewhat relatable to a question at hand. Being inquisitive about mathematics, I have very much benefited from this. Perhaps more important than his academic credentials is the fact that he is a caring and patient person. Mr Zheng is known for being approachable by students and he even has provided help for students who are not part of his tutorial classes. I can casually converse with Mr Zheng about anything be it about mathematics or life in general without feeling much pressure. Despite his punishing timetable with back-to-back lessons and/or consultations on certain days, Mr Zheng will always push on in order to help students. I am very grateful to have Mr Zheng as both my mathematics tutor as well as civics tutor and would strongly recommend ZhengMath for anyone interested in going for mathematics tuition.

Christian James Welly (SAJC 16S15)

Mr Zheng is one of the most passionate and patient teachers I have ever encountered during JC. I truly enjoyed his F.U.N. lessons. They were very methodical and guided, thus allowing me to understand the concepts better. He is a very dedicated teacher whom you definitely will not want to miss!

Lim Liyin (SAJC 12A07)

Mr Zheng was an extremely motivating tutor. Back when I was in J1, he was my H2 Maths tutor and did a fantastic job! He was very encouraging and always thought of unique ways to deliver lessons to his students!

Song Wei Liang (SAJC 11S08)

I believe I only had Mr. Zheng for less than 6 months (?) as he was taking over our class for a short period. However, what I do remember was that he was extremely conscientious, such as providing us with ‘hand-made’ worksheets with his own personal touches. I also remember clearly that, more than just forcing us to learn formulas, he actively sought to try to help us understand the concepts behind the said formulas, as well as instil us with a love of learning. All the best Mr. Zheng!

Melody Madhavan (SAJC 11A07)

With less than 6 months to my final IB math paper, I was still struggling a lot with the content and constantly failing class tests. Fortunately, I was introduced to Mr Zheng for Math tuition. Upon attending classes with Mr Zheng, I have had a stronger grasp on my weaker topics in Math such as complex numbers. Apart from being engaging, Mr Zheng goes through the content in a pace where I can keep up. He was also very patient when I was having difficulties solving simple questions. After attending math tuition, my math have significantly improve from before and this is evident with the grade in my IB math paper. I enjoyed attending classes with Mr Zheng and I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Zheng to anyone that is looking for a helping hand in Math.

Yuhan Ooi (Marlborough College Malaysia, IB HL Math)

Mr Zheng is an excellent Teacher, equipped with the best teaching techniques. His materials are by far the best I ever used! Very friendly and helpful teacher too!

Tan Tuan Hao (SAJC 14S02)

Mr Zheng was my class’ civic teacher(form teacher) as well as math teacher for two years. I was a student with no motivation and drive to do well throughout a large portion of my JC life (up till mid-year of J2). I also frequently had discipline issues with late-coming as well as homework submission.

Despite his large pool of students, Mr Zheng was still concerned about each of his students (especially the weaker ones). He would make us stay back after school with his SUPER FUN(demental) programme which is a session where we complete custom made questions by him and can consult him about any doubts on the spot.
Having to do this for 2-3 classes was definitely no joke for him as he did it almost every week. A show of how hectic the session was was that we had to even take “queue” numbers to consult him.

His understanding of the mathematical concepts is clearly superb and his explainations are crystal clear too. However, what really impressed me was the extent he would go to help his students even beyond his “stipulated timetable”. (eg. replying to maths questions at the wee hours, or staying back till 10+ every week to help us weaker students understand the math concept better). Another notable point is the effort he took to prepare all those customised notes and exercises for us to have more practices outside the TYS and school worksheets.

Overall, i believe Mr Zheng is a teacher who truly have the passion to teach as well as the compassion for his students to understand maths on a deeper level.

Jaaron Leong (SAJC 14S24)

Mathematics was never my weak subject from young. However, i struggled alot with the JC syllabus perhaps due to lack of motivation and a lack of understanding of the concepts which i did not clarify till late. I was barely passing Mathematics and it was worrying. Constant consultation with Mr Zheng helped to improve my understanding. He was very patient in making sure i understood the concepts and also dedicated time after school to help me with my queries. As you can predict by now, I scored A for my A levels for H2 Mathematics!

Keith Tan (SAJC 11S24)

Mr Zheng isn’t the average math teacher who simply trudges through the lesson and whose only good advice is to memorise. He explains complicated ideas intuitively and engages his students. His empathy sets him apart from other task-oriented teachers and that encourages the student to take his/her work seriously. He answers my questions relevantly within the course of the syllabus and entertains my out-of-syllabus curiosities after class ends to satisfy my burning questions without taking the class off-course. He makes learning Math more fun than what society portrays, and for that I strongly recommend his services to anyone who wants to improve his/her Math, regardless of level of content mastery.

Joel Kindiak (SAJC 14S16)

Mr Zheng is one of the most dedicated teachers I have came across. He created his own set of notes and worksheets (which consists of mainly A level questions instead of just normal tutorial practice questions) and was more than willing to stay back to answer our questions. His teaching and explanation are methodical and easy to understand, making Math fun! He is dedicated in helping his students improve in their grades by providing consultations and self-initiated night study sessions.

Loh Sin Yuen (SAJC 14S02)

Mr Zheng is a committed and competent teacher who often go out of his way to help his students. Under his tutelage, I’ve come to notice one distinct characteristic that separate him from other teachers; his commitment to constantly provide more than the minimum. Throughout my JC years, I was privileged to be able to receive additional materials from him, on top of those already provided by the school. The additional materials were manually compiled and prepared by himself, so as to ensure that his students get the most comprehensive materials. In addition, he commits majority of his time to ensure that his students get the most guidance possible. When nearing major exams, rather than holding large classes to revise and strengthen concepts (which is the easier way out), he provide assistance in small groups. By doing so, he had to stay late in school to assist and go through the same/similar concepts repeatedly. His commitment to the cause allowed me to strengthen my foundations as he tends to explain concepts in simpler terms to allow better understanding. This made learning easier overall and I was able to see my results improving across the different major exams.

Alex Wee Jun Jie (SAJC 14A02)

It was a privilege to have been taught by someone as brilliant and dedicated as Mr Zheng. He understands how to navigate the syllabus extremely well, and was able to effectively impart the required skills in the short period of time. He is very passionate and engaging when teaching, and willing to go the extra mile to help each student improve.

Steven Gunawan (SAJC 12S19)

Being a teacher is more than just knowledge transfer. It’s about motivating a student to want to learn and help them cope with failures whenever they occur.

Mr. Zheng stands as more than just my mentor, giving me emotional support to balance my CCA and studies. Whenever I feel overwhelmed by the workload, he is able to give me constructive ways to get myself back on my feet and try again. He is someone you can count on when in need.

My student-teacher relationship with Mr. Zheng extends beyond the professional (school) realm. Even after 3 years of my graduation, he would still accept my invitation to go out and catch up or simply to spend time together over the weekend. He is not just a teacher, he is also a friend who will be more than happy to get close to you.

Edward Tanoto (SAJC Guitar Ensemble)

There’s a saying that goes like this: “Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach”. Teaching as a career is often seen as a poor career choice in today’s society. Many people think of teaching as a last resort. This is definitely not the case for Mr Zheng. With his intellect and results in University, he could’ve easily found a cushy job in the banking or finance industry. But he stuck to his passion and that is teaching. He gives his 110% for every student, regardless of their mastery in the subject. If you’re weak in math, he’ll patiently explain to you the rationale of why we perform each step in the working. If you’re good at math, you’ll learn to appreciate the beauty hidden in mathematics through his various “cruel” challenges.

Chen Kuang (SAJC 12S28)

Mr Zheng was my math tutor who had provided me with great guidance that is more than what I deserved. With his deep understanding of the curriculum and its fundamental, he was able to deliver his lesson in such a way that it is easy to understand. In addition, Mr. Zheng is very passionate about teaching and has always kept his students’ well-being on the back of his mind. To me, Mr. Zheng was more than a math tutor in school. He is my life mentor as well. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is looking for a tutor in both math and life!

Tey Kai Yuan (SAJC 12S07)

Mr Zheng is a great math teacher that spends time and effort in his teaching. His personal math resources he prepared for us in class is more than enough to master every JC H2 math chapter. His resources also tackles every type of question/concept that can be asked about a certain topic. He never fails to clarify my doubts and he would explain concepts to me in a different way if I still didn’t understand. I got an A for my A level H2 Math back in 2015 and Mr. Zheng has a big part to play in me getting that grade!

Deborah Low Shi Lei (SAJC 14S02)

Throughout my JC, I’ve never needed a math tutor outside and was consistently getting A for math from the start to A level. Mr Zheng is really a patient and caring teacher that puts in his effort to teach during his free time. Even on weekend, we could even ask him through phone and he will reply almost instantly! Furthermore, he even came out with his own practice questions and papers which are more interesting and helpful for us to practice! Lastly, not to mention that Mr Zheng is really intelligent as well! He’s able to identify where our problem lies and figure out our thinking process in order to correct us.

Lim Kar Aik (SAJC 14S02)

Mr Zheng with his passion for math and adaptive approach to teaching has made him an all time favourite in school. As he is relatively young, he brings along positive energy in class that drives students to excel, or at least motivate them to enjoy mathematics. It is an honour to be taught by Mr Zheng.

Tian Warren (SAJC 14S16)

Mr Zheng is a deeply passionate teacher whose love for the subject is reflected in his teachings. He is not afraid to go an extra mile at the expense of his own time and effort to ensure his students attain the deepest understanding possible in mathematics.

Gavan To Lap Fung (SAJC 14S16)

Mr Zheng was my math tutor for the whole duration of my 2 years in JC, and one word to summarise him is: committed. I was definitely one of the weaker and slower students in the class and despite that he was more than willing to spend his free time for consultation sessions to help me get up to speed with the class. He also never failed to keep the class interactive with many methods of delivering information be it on the PowerPoints, whiteboard explanations or all the extra materials (LOST, FUN) which we had. Not only that, he was tried his best to reply us ASAP, irregardless of time or day. Thank you Mr Zheng for all your effort that you put into us!

Shaquil Ahmad (SAJC 14S16)

The one thing that stands out from Mr. Zheng’s math lessons even after some time has passed is definitely his passion for Mathematics. His energy level and passion for Mathematics is very contagious hence I will always go to class, looking forward to what he has in store for us. I was very impressed by his dedication in bringing Mathematics to life for us when he invited his ex-student to perform magic tricks with him for Statistics. His dedication for teaching Maths can be seen in him preparing worksheets personally to cater to students with different progress. Mr. Zheng also goes the extra mile to help his students by making sure his students can reach him either through his trademark SUper Fun sessions or by 1 to 1 consultations even though he is very busy. He is a very approachable person and he can relate to us very easily hence he builds strong rapport with each of us 🙂 Thank you Mr. Zheng for giving us the opportunity to be taught by you! I wish you all the best for your future endeavours!
